Meet Aparna Patrie

Immigration Attorney

Aparna Patrie is a dedicated and passionate immigration attorney with over a decade of experience in civil litigation and federal policy. Aparna represents dozens of clients in asylum and removal proceedings from a wide variety of countries, has filed multiple family-based immigration petitions, inadmissibility waivers, U-Visa, VAWA, naturalization applications, filed immigration appeals and advised on business immigration matters.

Aparna immigrated to the United States at age 13 before naturalizing in her 20s. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown Law, magna cum laude, in 2015. Aparna clerked for the Honorable Marjorie Rendell of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, where she handled all of the complex immigration appeals that came before the court during her clerkship. Aparna also has years of experience as a lawyer for the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, where federal immigration laws are drafted, and as a staffer in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Aparna has worked and continues to work with local and state-based organizations, such as the Hawai’i Coalition for Immigrant Rights (HCIR), the Hawai’i Coalition for Civil Rights (HCCR) and Roots Reborn (based in Maui). She is licensed in New York but authorized to practice immigration law in all 50 states and internationally.
